Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz held an important meeting with Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan and discussed provincial political and administrative affairs, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Tuesday.
The meeting highlighted the Punjab government’s initiatives aimed at tackling pressing challenges such as inflation, land encroachment, etc.
The Speaker of the Punjab Assembly applauded the administration’s effective and timely measures in response to the monsoon.
The central point of discussion was the formation of the Punjab Encroachment and Relief Authority (PERA), which is aimed at combating inflation, illegal encroachments, and the land mafia.
While praising the move, Speaker Malik Ahmad Khan hailed it as a “bold and people-centric step” that signals the government's resolve to uphold citizens' rights.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, while describing PERA as a citizen-focused initiative, stated that the well-being of every person in Punjab is her top priority, further declaring “This guiding principle informs our every decision, especially in expanding access to essential public services.”
While lauding CM for her inclusive approach to governance, Speaker Punjab Assembly stated, “Maryam Nawaz is serving the people above political lines. Every segment of society appears satisfied with her approach.”
He further highlighted that development efforts, for the first time, are extending beyond Lahore and major urban areas to reach long-neglected and underdeveloped areas of Punjab.
