Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar participated in a joint meeting of foreign ministers from Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) member states with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing.
President Xi welcomed the delegation heads, emphasising that the SCO plays a vital role in promoting peace, stability, and prosperity across the region.
He noted that the organisation covers a significant portion of the Eurasian landmass and global population, highlighting its importance in fostering regional cooperation.
During the visit, Ishaq Dar also held a separate bilateral meeting with President Xi, reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to regional peace, sustainable development, and mutual collaboration.
On the sidelines of the event, held at the Great Hall of the People, Ishaq Dar met with Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev, expressing satisfaction over the meeting and reiterating both countries’ resolve to enhance bilateral ties and cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.
The visit reflects Pakistan’s proactive engagement within the SCO framework to deepen strategic, diplomatic, and economic ties across the region.
