The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has renewed its warning against unrecognised degree programmes, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Admissions are only valid for recognised undergraduate, MPhil, and PhD degree programmes, stated an HEC circular, barring institutions from continuing the admission process in unrecognised programmes.
It clarified that the two-year BA/BSc and MA/MSc degree programmes have been terminated and must no longer be offered or promoted.
"Educational institutions, students, and parents are hereby informed not to seek or offer admissions into two-year BA, BSc, MA, or MSc degree programmes," the commission stated.
It noted with concern that some institutions continue to admit students into these outdated programmes, despite the official deadline having long passed.
“The degrees earned through such programmes will not be recognised or attested by the HEC,” the circular warned.
