Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said on Tuesday that the entire Iranian nation, led by its supreme leader, boldly faced the Israeli aggression, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Speaking to Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian in Tehran, he said that his and the supreme leader’s best strategy played a decisive role in the war against the Zionist state. “Pakistan strongly condemned Israeli aggression against Iran at all forums,” he said, adding, “It was the country’s parliament that took lead in the passage of a resolution denouncing Israel’s attack on Iran.”
Pakistan, he added, supported Iran’s legitimate right to defend itself.
Speaking on the occasion, Iran’s president said his country attached great importance to its ties with Pakistan. “We cannot forget the way Pakistan supported us during our military confrontation against Israel,” he added.
Masoud further said that the Zionist state was trying to weaken the Muslim world by creating divisions within it. “Unity and understanding between Islamic countries is the need of the hour," he asserted.
He also stressed the need for enhancing cooperation between the two countries in various sectors, saying there existed a lot of room for collaboration.
Matters of mutual interest: the relations between the two countries came under discussion at the meeting.
Naqvi, on the occasion, also conveyed to the Iranian president a message of good wishes from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also held a special meeting with Dr Ali Akbar Velayati, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's Senior Advisor on International Affairs.
Following the recent Iran-Israel ceasefire, the high-level discussion centred on issues of shared interest, the changing bilateral relationship between Pakistan and Iran, and the broader regional environment.
The meeting took place at a crucial time for the area.
In their in-depth discussion of the post-ceasefire regional dynamics, Minister Naqvi and Dr Velayati reaffirmed the significance of strategic communication and ongoing collaboration between the two nations.
The strong diplomatic ties between Islamabad and Tehran were highlighted during the meeting when Mohsin Naqvi expressed the warmest wishes of Pakistan's political and military leadership to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei.
"Pakistan and Iran have consistently supported each other, whether during times of conflict or peace," Naqvi asserted with certainty and determination.
He went on to stress that no rival can drive a wedge between the two countries, reaffirming Pakistan's steadfast dedication to its neighbour.
Dr Ali Akbar Velayati, a veteran diplomat and former foreign minister of Iran, appreciated the interior minister's remarks.
The dialogue further showcased a mutual dedication to regional stability, national sovereignty, and enduring collaboration.
Also attending the meeting were Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghaddam, along with senior Iranian diplomats, contributing diplomatic substance to an already significant discussion.
