New York City turned into a runway over the weekend as Indian-American TV icon Padma Lakshmi stepped out with her daughter, Krishna Thea Lakshmi-Dell, who is quickly growing into her mother’s mirror image, both in looks and stature.
The 14-year-old, whom Padma affectionately calls "Littlehands," was spotted walking alongside her 5′9″ mom and their rescue chihuahua, Divina, during a casual stroll through their Manhattan neighbourhood. What caught the attention of onlookers and paparazzi alike was Krishna’s noticeable growth spurt.
Wearing a stylish black leather vest and low-rise jeans, Krishna exuded confidence, proving she’s already developing her fashion sense. Padma, meanwhile, kept it effortlessly chic in a brown midi dress, open-toe heels, and black sunglasses.
Krishna, Padma’s only child with ex-partner and tech investor Adam Dell, has become a familiar face on her mother’s social media over the years, from cooking adventures to red carpet glimpses. However, Padma has remained mindful about sharing her daughter’s life publicly.
Speaking in an earlier interview, the Taste the Nation host admitted she once struggled with the idea of showcasing Krishna online. "My daughter gets paparazzi with me all the time... but I want her to choose when she is old enough whether she wants to be exposed that way," she shared.
Though Padma initially kept Krishna’s face hidden on platforms like Instagram, the teenager later appeared on episodes of her mother’s Hulu docuseries. The two also collaborated on Padma’s cookbook All American, with Krishna contributing her own recipe. “The book is like a scrapbook of our lives in food over the past six to seven years,” Padma noted.
