In a move reflecting a strict enforcement of internal discipline, the Islamabad Capital Police has suspended two officers for violating the department’s social media policy.
According to official sources, Constables Aftab Ahmed and Ehtesham Aslam, both serving in the Operations Division, have been suspended from duty and ordered to report to Rescue 15 Islamabad. A formal departmental inquiry has also been launched against them.
The action was taken on the directives of DIG Islamabad, who took notice of the alleged misconduct and breach of official policy. The nature of the social media violation has not been publicly detailed, but officials confirmed it involved inappropriate or unauthorised use of digital platforms in a manner inconsistent with police protocols.
Authorities say the disciplinary measures serve as a warning to other officers and reinforce the importance of adhering to professional conduct both online and offline. Further penalties could follow depending on the outcome of the departmental investigation.
