Iran has issued a clear and firm message to the United States, warning that any nuclear negotiations will be off the table if Washington insists on halting uranium enrichment, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Tuesday.
Ismail Baghaei, spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, said, “If the condition for negotiations is to stop enrichment, then such talks are simply not possible.”
His remarks come amid ongoing diplomatic uncertainty, as no date, time, or venue has yet been finalised for a possible U.S.-Iran meeting.
According to international media reports, five rounds of unofficial talks between Iran’s Abbas Araghchi and US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff have so far failed to yield a conclusive agreement.
While backchannel diplomacy continues, Tehran remains adamant that its right to peaceful nuclear enrichment is non-negotiable.
This development adds to the growing uncertainty surrounding the revival of nuclear talks between the two long-standing adversaries.
