The members of the banned Joint Action Committee have targeted Islamabad Police jawan amid their claim of peaceful protests in Rawalakot.
According to a press release released by AJK police, the incident took place on July 14 near Goyi Nala, Afsar Market, where Islamabad Police employee Ehtesham Masih was forced out of his vehicle, manhandled and filmed. Police claimed the video was later circulated on social media with misleading context. The authorities said legal action will be taken after the investigation is completed.
Referring to the recent protest AJK Police said law enforcement agencies had exercised self-control and professionalism regardless of the situation for the protection of lives and property even after police personnel were martyred and injured.
The police also warned public to avoid sharing unverified, edited videos and information.
