Karachi police have arrested all three suspects allegedly involved in the murder of Dr Akash during a robbery in the city within 36 hours of the incident, 24NewsHD TV reported on Wednesday.
Addressing a press conference alongside CIA DIG Muqaddas Haider and other police officials, South Zone DIG Asad Raza said the incident occurred in the Frere area, where Dr Akash was shot during a robbery.
He said investigators collected crucial evidence within the first 24 hours.
According to the DIG, the suspects had already reached the bank before the victim arrived.
One of the accused allegedly conducted surveillance and alerted his accomplices, after which the robbery was carried out.
Police reviewed more than 100 CCTV recordings during the investigation, which proved instrumental in identifying and tracking down the suspects.
The officials traced both the motorcycle and the car used in the crime.
All three suspects who were riding the motorcycle at the time of the incident have been taken into custody.
Asad Raza said the suspects were arrested within the jurisdiction of Defence Police Station.
He added that the accused belong to the Hindu community and that police recovered a sum of cash from their possession.
