Pakistani actress and drama reviewer Nadia Khan has once again come under the spotlight after famous writer Saima Akram Chaudhry responded to her criticism of Sajal Aly’s dialogue delivery in a latest episode of ‘Zanjeerain’.
Taking to her Instagram Stories, Nadia addressed Saima’s remarks stating the drama writer should stick to fixing her scripts and production errors. The actress wrote: “Saima Akram Chaudhry told me to see a psychiatrist, so I did! Diagnosed with a severe case of ‘Truth Syndrome’ aka practicing free speech and calling out bad writing. There is no cure for my honesty, but there is a prevention for you: write better scripts and fix your production errors.”
The controversy began after a clip from Nadia Khan's review went viral on social media, in which she mocked a scene featuring actress Sajal Aly as Rabiya. Reacting to the clip, Saima Akram Chaudhry strongly criticized Nadia for commenting on Sajal's performance. She said Nadia was not in a position to judge other actors, adding that she had once failed to do justice to a script written by her. According to Saima, Nadia's remarks were not constructive criticism but unnecessary mockery.
The story quickly gained attention of social media users expressing mixed opinions.
One user commented: “I think this is too much Nadia. this is not the right way to criticise someone. I mean you can do it in a decent way.”
However, some people came in support for Nadia khan saying: “Saima can't write different and unique from previous few years, her all scripts are same, Nadia is right”
Another supporter said: “Nadia Khan always right always spoke truth without fear and why would she fear of them. if there is something error in the script or in anything in the drama it would be point out and why not hum kab seekhay gau ghalat ko sahi kerna ye kaha ki baat ha k kuch na kaho aise na kaho kisi ne bohat dill se likha ha drama”
