Nauman Bashir appointed Chief of State Protocol in Foreign Office

The federal government on Wednesday appointed Nauman Bashir as Chief of State Protocol in the Foreign Office in Islamabad, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Before his current assignment, Nauman Bashir had served as Pakistan's Ambassador to Kazakhstan.

He is replacing former Chief of State Protocol Usman Tipu, who was appointed as Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom (UK).

Nauman Bashir arrived in Pakistan recently. Diplomatic sources said that the name of the new foreign office spokesman will be finalized soon.

The government is considering the names of Dr. Mohammad Faisal, Ayesha Ali, Ahmad Farooq, and others.

The new spokesman will be appointed in place of the current spokesman of the Foreign Office, Tahir Hussain Andrabi.

Tahir Hussain Andrabi will resume his responsibilities as Pakistan’s permanent representative in the United Nations in Geneva.
