Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Junaid Anwar Chaudhary has said that maritime education will be brought in line with international standards in Pakistan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
Junaid Anwar Chaudhary has said that a summary regarding the upgradation of Pakistan Marine Academy has been forwarded to the Prime Minister for approval.
He further said that the final consultation and other legal and administrative phases have been completed in this regard.
Junaid Anwar Chaudhry said that the federal cabinet will grant final approval to the policy in its meeting.
The Federal Minister said that Pakistan Marine Academy will become an institution that will grant degrees.
Juanid Anwar Chaudhary said that after approval from the Prime Minister, the summary will be submitted to the Ministry of Law and Parliamentary Affairs.
He said that we will bring the maritime education as per the international standards, which will prepare seafarers.
Junaid Anwar Chaudhary said that investment in human resource development will continue. He said, “We will develop a world-class maritime workforce”.
Discussions are underway regarding dual-degree programs with top global maritime institutions.
