Pakistan showcases Karachi Runway Upgrade at ICAO

Pakistan presented its experience in safely delivering the reconstruction and upgrade of Runway 07L/25R at Jinnah International Airport (JIAP), Karachi, during the 25th Meeting of the ICAO Asia Pacific Regional Aviation Safety Team (APRAST/25) in Thailand, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

Engineer Hafiz Zahid Ishaq, Muneeb Ahmad Khan, and Mohtarma Mah Rukh Hussain represented Pakistan.

The Working Paper was presented by Engr. Hafiz Zahid Ishaque, Project Director JIAP Runway Project, highlights the collaborative efforts of PCAA and PAA in completing one of Pakistan's largest aviation infrastructure projects while maintaining continuous airport operations.

* Runway extended from 3,200 m to 3,500m and upgraded to ICAO Code 4F

* Completed within 18 months

* 60,000 aircraft movements were safely facilitated

* Nearly 10 million passengers served

* Zero reportable operational safety occurrences

The paper was well acknowledged by APRAST members, reflecting Pakistan's continued commitment to aviation safety, resilient infrastructure, and alignment with ICAO Standards.
