Veteran morning show host Nida Yasir and actor Imran Abbas shed light on the challenges the hosts face while hosting.
In a candid conversation, Nida reflected on how demanding it is to maintain energy, charm, and positivity daily, regardless of personal stress or emotional turmoil.
Asked how she manages to conceal daily tension, stress, and even moments of depression and grief while on-air, Nida admitted that her acting background plays a vital role.
“Hosting a morning show is no less than acting,” she explained.
She added: “You have to smile, shine, and perform no matter what you’re feeling inside.
“Acting skills help cover up all the emotions that you might otherwise show.”
The conversation offered fans a rare behind-the-scenes glimpse into the emotional resilience and professionalism it takes to maintain the cheerful front demanded by morning television.
The daughter of noted producers Kazim Pasha and Fehmida Nasreen, Nida has won several accolades, including Best Morning Show Host at the Pakistan Media Awards (2012) and Pakistan Achievement Awards (2019).
She acted in TV dramas such as Hum Tum and the sitcom Nadaaniyaan, and later helped produce popular comedies like Baal Baal Bach Gaye, Wrong No, Mehrunisa V Lub U, and Wrong No. 2.
Nida married actor and producer Yasir Nawaz in 2002, and the couple has three children.
Though part of a media-oriented family, she has faced backlash over her on-air behavior, including controversial interviews and accusations of sensationalizing content, most notably involving sensitive topics like interviews with rape victims, which triggered public criticism and hashtags like #BanNidaYasir.
Despite the ups and downs, Nida Yasir remains a key household name and an enduring presence in Pakistan’s entertainment landscape.
