A policeman was martyred while another sustained serious injuries in a sudden armed attack by unidentified assailants in the Sui area of Balochistan, reported 24NewsHDTV Channel on Sunday.
According to police sources, the incident occurred near Tota Colony, situated approximately two kilometres from the Sui Police Station.
The attackers ambushed the policemen in a targeted strike that sent shockwaves through the local community.
In a chilling development, the gunmen also opened fire on a residential house located in the same vicinity, heightening fears of broader violence.
Soon after the attack, the injured police officer was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital, where he is currently receiving medical treatment.
In response, police forces immediately cordoned off the entire area and launched a thorough search operation in pursuit of the perpetrators.
Security has been tightened, and investigations are currently underway to identify the attackers and determine their motives.
