Police in Rawalpindi on Sunday registered a first information report (FIR) under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) against lawyers for threatening a traffic warden with removing his uniform, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

As per the FIR, a traffic warden intercepted a motorcyclist, Malik Tajammul, at Haider Road of the city.

His motorcycle was impounded since he was not wearing a helmet and the motorcycle was without a number plate as well.

The motorcyclist introduced himself as a lawyer and called other lawyers.

The lawyers threatened the warden with dire consequences.

Later, senior police officials reached the site and after that the matter was settled.

But Chaudhary Rizwanullah Advocate uploaded video of the incident on social media to bring a bad name for the police department.

The FIR was filed on behalf of Inspector Wajid Mehmood in Cantonment Police Station.
