The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has removed three of the four objections raised by the Registrar's Office on a petition seeking permission for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and Finance Adviser Muzammil Aslam to meet PTI founder Imran Khan for consultation on the provincial budget, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Monday.
Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro issued a written order following Monday's hearing of the case.
According to the order, three objections raised by the Registrar's Office have been removed, while one objection concerning the pendency of similar cases remains under consideration.
The court noted that the Registrar's Office had pointed out that other petitions of a similar nature were already pending before the court.
To address the issue, Justice Soomro directed the Registrar's Office to submit a detailed report at the next hearing, specifying how many similar cases are currently pending before the Islamabad High Court.
"The Registrar's Office should submit a report on the next hearing regarding the number of such cases pending before the court," the order stated.
The petition was filed by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister and the province's finance adviser, who are seeking permission to meet the incarcerated PTI founder to discuss matters related to the provincial budget.
After issuing the directions, the court adjourned further proceedings in the case until June 18.
