A delegation from Turkey's Petra Hospitality Management Company met Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Monday to discuss investment opportunities and cooperation in the tourism and hospitality sectors, with both sides agreeing to explore joint development projects in the province, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The delegation, led by Petra Hospitality Managing Partner Tassos Kotzanastas, called on the chief minister at the Chief Minister House. Sindh Culture Minister Syed Zulfiqar Shah and Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar also attended the meeting.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to promote investment, tourism and hospitality-related projects in Sindh. Murad assured the delegation of the provincial government's full support and facilitation for foreign investors.
"Sindh welcomes global investors under its investor-friendly policy," the chief minister said, adding that the province offers significant opportunities in tourism, culture and investment.
Murad said Sindh could benefit from Turkey's experience in the tourism and hospitality sectors and stressed that cooperation with Turkish investors could help unlock the province's tourism potential.
Highlighting key tourist attractions, the chief minister pointed to Keenjhar Lake, Nangarparkar, Gorakh Hill Station and Larkana as destinations with strong prospects for development.
"Gorakh Hill, Keenjhar Lake and Nangarparkar have the potential to become world-class tourist centres," he said, noting that the Sindh government had already developed resorts and motels at several tourist sites.
He invited Turkish investors to participate in joint tourism ventures and development projects, saying the provincial government was taking practical steps to make tourism a strong pillar of the economy.
The Turkish delegation expressed keen interest in Sindh's tourism and hospitality sectors and discussed possibilities for mutual investment and collaboration.
Both sides agreed to further strengthen economic and tourism cooperation and reviewed potential joint development projects. They also agreed to maintain close coordination in the future to advance areas of mutual interest.
Officials said the Sindh Culture Department and Investment Department would begin practical work with Petra Hospitality Management on selected projects as part of efforts to enhance cooperation between Sindh and Turkey in the tourism sector.
