British Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Member of Parliament Hamish Faulkner met Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and praised Pakistan's diplomatic efforts, particularly its role in facilitating the recent agreement between the United States and Iran, the Foreign Office said on Monday.
According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, Faulkner expressed full confidence in Pakistan's diplomatic engagement and appreciated its constructive and positive role in regional and international affairs.
During the meeting, the British minister acknowledged Pakistan's contribution to efforts that helped make the US-Iran agreement possible, saying Islamabad's diplomatic initiatives had played an important role in advancing dialogue and reducing tensions.
The two sides reviewed bilateral relations in detail and discussed ways to further strengthen cooperation between Pakistan and the United Kingdom across various sectors.
Dar reiterated Pakistan's commitment to dialogue and diplomacy as the preferred means of resolving disputes and achieving lasting peace in the region.
"Pakistan is committed to promoting peace, stability and dialogue in the region," the foreign minister said during the meeting.
The two leaders also exchanged views on regional and global developments and discussed issues of mutual interest. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further enhancing Pakistan-UK relations and expanding cooperation in multiple fields.
The British delegation praised Pakistan's foreign policy approach and its efforts to promote peace and stability, while Pakistan reaffirmed its determination to continue playing a positive and responsible role in addressing regional and global challenges.
The meeting concluded with both countries agreeing to maintain close engagement and deepen cooperation on matters of shared interest, according to the Foreign Office.
