Pakistani actress Momina Iqbal has strongly reacted to remarks allegedly made by religious scholar Nasir Madni, accusing him of spreading unverified allegations and publicly damaging her reputation.
Taking to her Instagram Stories, the actress shared a lengthy statement expressing disappointment and anger over the comments directed at her during a religious gathering. Momina asserted that while she is confident she will clear her name both legally and morally, those who make accusations without evidence will ultimately be held accountable.
Addressing Nasir Madni directly, she wrote that he had amplified allegations against her from the pulpit and stressed that only she and Allah know the truth behind the claims being circulated.
“I may win this case in the courts of this world and the Hereafter, but you will lose it in the court of Allah,” she stated, adding that she would not forgive him for what she described as an unjust attack on her character.
The actress further reminded followers that Islam strictly forbids making accusations without proof and cited Surah An-Nur (4), which warns against slandering chaste individuals without presenting evidence.
In another story, Momina questioned how someone who publicly mocks and humiliates a woman could claim to represent Islamic values.
“This man should not have the right to represent Islam while laughing at and ridiculing a woman's honour,” she wrote. “I request everyone to hold him accountable and ask on what basis, evidence, or testimony my name was discussed in such a manner before an audience.”
She further questioned whether such conduct reflected the teachings of Islam, emphasizing that standing for truth should never be this difficult.
The reaction came after Nasir Madni allegedly made remarks about the actress during a religious gathering, where he referenced her ongoing controversy and used language that many social media users considered inappropriate and offensive.
The matter has reignited debate online about public accusations, character assassination, and the responsibility of influential figures when discussing private individuals.
It is worth mentioning that Momina Iqbal recently approached the NCCIA and FIA, alleging that she had been subjected to online defamation, character assassination, and threats to her life. The actress has maintained that she will continue pursuing legal avenues to defend her reputation and seek justice.
