Dr. A.B. Ashraf, an authority on Urdu language and literature, passed away at the age of 90 in Ankara on Saturday. He was born on February 15, 1935, and breathed his last on March 15, 2025.
He served as head of the Urdu Department at the Bahauddin Zakarya University and president of Urdu Chair at Ankara University. He has been author of dozens of books, a researcher and critic. He will be buried in Multan and arrangements are being made to transport his body from Ankara to Multan. He is survived by three sons and four daughters.
