The United States Embassy in Baghdad has advised American citizens to leave Iraq immediately due to rising security threats, 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
According to the report, in a statement, the embassy warned that attacks had been carried out against US citizens, American interests and key infrastructure in the country.
The embassy urged US nationals who are currently in Iraq to reconsider staying in the country and make arrangements to leave as soon as possible.
Officials also warned of a continuous threat from missiles, drones and other forms of weapons in Iraqi airspace.
Due to the heightened risk, Americans were advised to avoid visiting the embassy in Baghdad or the US consulate in Erbil unless absolutely necessary.
The advisory comes amid growing regional tensions and security concerns in Iraq.
