The US dollar started trading in a volatile fashion on Friday and shed its value by 89 paisas against the rupee in complete contrast to what has been witnessed during the current week.
In inter-bank rate, the dollar was currently available for Rs159.30 against the previous level of Rs160.10 recorded on Thursday.
