Three Afghan citizens have been 'found involved' in the violent protests committed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's activists and supporters in Peshawar following the arrest of Imran Khan, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.
According to security sources, the PTI leadership carried out the riots by paying huge amounts to Afghan citizens. The law enforcement agencies have released an alleged confessional statement following a spree of arrests.
The sources said confessions of three Afghan citizens have been released, while an investigation with others is underway.
They added that Afghan residents were bribed by the PTI leadership.
The arrested criminals belonged to Kabul and Mazar-e-Sharif, the security sources claimed.
Their confessional statements can be viewed in the video clips. In such a clip, one Afghan citizen said that his name is Abbas and he belonged to Kabul. “After the arrest of Imran Khan, PTI MPA asked to vandalize and gave money, accused Abbas held.
“I am sorry for what I have done and seek forgiveness.”
Two more accused Umair and Asmatullah were also arrested. Both the accused belong to Afghanistan and were paid by PTI officials to vandalize.
