Chief of the Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir has held a telephonic conversation with United Arab Emirates (UAE) President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and discussed a raft of issues including bolstering the bilateral defence cooperation, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The two leaders had indepth discussion about enhancement of cooperation and joint work between Pakistan and the UAE in defence and military affairs, and ways to support and strengthen them to serve the mutual interests of both nations.
According to a UAE news agency, the president emphasised the UAE's commitment to supporting all that achieves unity and stability in the friendly Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and meets the aspirations of its people for progress and prosperity.
The Pakistani Army chief expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the UAE President and extended his wishes for the UAE’s continuous development, progress, and prosperity.
Earlier in February this year, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan had held a meeting with General Syed Asim Munir at the Qasr Al Shati Palace, Abu Dhabi. Both the leaders had then talked about ways to further the bilateral cooperation and joint work between the two countries.
