The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has received verbal clearance from the government to go ahead with its upcoming tour of Pakistan, marking a significant step forward in the revival of bilateral cricket ties between the two nations.
However, a formal written confirmation is still awaited before the board begins consultations with players.
“We have received the green signal from the government,” a senior BCB official confirmed on Wednesday. “However, we have not yet been informed in writing. The government has granted permission in principle, and we’ll talk to the players once the official letter arrives.”
The tour, which features a five-match T20I series between Pakistan and Bangladesh, was originally scheduled from May 25 to June 3. However, due to overlapping dates with the Pakistan Super League (PSL), the series is now likely to be rescheduled. A revised window from May 27 to June 5 has been proposed to accommodate logistical adjustments.
Venue logistics are also under review, with discussions underway to shift the opening match of the series from Faisalabad to Lahore. The change is being considered to streamline operations and ease travel requirements for both teams.
