For the first time in history, Modi, who dared to attack inside a nuclear-armed country, has now become a burden not only for India but also for its allied nations. After the Pahalgam incident, the general perception was that India would escalate tensions along the Line of Control but would not attempt to strike inside Pakistan, as doing so would provoke Pakistan to retaliate with a barrage of missiles. This analysis had also been presented in these very lines. However, when India attacked not only Azad Kashmir but also Bahawalpur and Muridke on the night between the 6th and 7th of May, a full-scale war became inevitable. Contrary to popular belief, Pakistan's political and military leadership had already devised a deep and flawless strategy. The night between the 6th and 7th of May proved to be a decisive turning point.
India launched 80 aircraft from 12 airbases, including 32 Rafales, 30 SU-30s (armed with BrahMos missiles), and various MiG jets. In response, Pakistan scrambled 40 JF-17s and other Chinese-made fighter jets. Indian aircraft repeatedly attempted to breach Pakistani airspace but failed. When civilian installations in Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Sheikhupura were targeted with missile strikes, Pakistan retaliated, shooting down three Rafales, one MiG-29, and one Sukhoi-30. This skirmish left the Indian Air Force so terrified that it grounded all its fighter jets. The Chinese-made PL-15 missile, deployed by the Pakistan Air Force, proved to be a death warrant for enemy aircraft.
Although verified reports had already emerged, the vast majority of the Pakistani public was consumed by grief and anger. They demanded that the enemy be struck deep within its own territory. By this point, Pakistan had already built a strong case internationally. Thirty-six hours after suffering a crushing defeat in the air war, India launched another attack, deploying expensive Israeli-made Heron drones over Lahore, Gujranwala, Chakwal, Attock, Rawalpindi, Bahawalpur, Mian Channu, and Karachi. Pakistani forces successfully destroyed over 80 drones, foiling this attack as well. Pakistan's case for a counterstrike had now grown even stronger. The entire nation was waiting for it.
On Friday night, India targeted Noor Khan Airbase in Rawalpindi, among other locations, with missiles. By then, all regional and international prerequisites under the rules of war had been met. In true Islamic tradition, the decisive “Operation Bunyan un Marsoos” was launched at dawn on Saturday after Fajr prayers. Although Pakistan's strikes lasted five hours, the truth is that within the first hour alone, the Pakistani armed forces had brought India to its knees. More than 26 military installations used for attacks against Pakistan were destroyed. The destruction of the S-400 air defence system shattered India's aerial shield, worth approximately $1.5 billion. Pakistani cyber experts hacked dozens of critical Indian websites, crippling their power grid. BrahMos missile stockpiles were obliterated. Pakistani drones reached as far as New Delhi and Gujarat, leaving all of India under siege.
The Indian aircraft carrier Vikrant lurking near Karachi’s coast, had already been locked onto by the Pakistan Navy. A single missile was all it would have taken to sink this ₹20,000 crore warship, along with its crew of 1,700, aircraft, and missiles. India began to fear that Pakistan might possess the Chinese-made aircraft carrier killer hypersonic missile. Meanwhile, after India's complete defeat in “Operation Bunyan un Marsoos” the US stepped in for face-saving. Until then, President Trump, Vice-President Vance, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio had been making conflicting statements, emboldening India.
With this major victory, Pakistan’s political and military leadership had already decided that if India launched another attack, high-value targets would be hit in retaliation—including economic assets. Both the US and India understood the gravity of this message. At India's request, President Trump brokered a ceasefire. Otherwise, the next strike would have targeted all major Indian cities and ports.
Defence Minister Khawaja Asif had already issued a statement as part of the plan, warning that if God forbid, a nuclear scenario unfolds, even spectators will not be spared. "With this war, India’s dream of regional dominance has been shattered forever. Pakistan has proven its invincibility by demonstrating its unmatched defence and military prowess, bringing immense reassurance to allied nations, especially Muslim countries.
China’s military hardware and technology have outclassed Europe, Russia, and even Israel. The US must now be deeply concerned—if the trade war ever escalates into a military confrontation, who knows what China might unleash from its arsenal?
India’s ignorant and deceitful media, along with PTI sympathizers, are in visible distress over Pakistan’s decisive victory in this war. Even President Trump has now confirmed what the whole world knows: India begged for a ceasefire.
The repercussions of this war’s outcome will not be limited to Pakistan and India alone—they will be felt across the region and globally. The immediate consequence of India’s humiliating defeat is that the countdown for Modi’s rule has now begun.
