Three police men got injured as unknown assailants opened fire at Utla Police Station’s checkpost in Swabi on Thursday evening, reported 24NewsHDTV channel.
According to the Station House Officer (SHO) of Utla, police returned fire in response, and additional personnel have been dispatched to the area, said the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP). An exchange of gunfire between the armed assailants and police remains ongoing.
Police men were standing at the checkpoint when unknown assailants opened fire. Resultantly Bacha Gul, Khair Ghafoor and Mira Fazl were seriously injured in the gunfire. The injured cops were immediately shifted to Shah Mansoor Medical Complex, Shah Mansoor.
A heavy contingent of police cordoned off the area and launched a search operation. A few days ago, unknown miscreants had opened fire at the flag post.
