Good news for the beneficiaries of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) as the federal government decided to increase the amount by 24.14 percent from Rs14,000 to Rs18,000 from January 2027, reported 24News HD TV Channel on Friday.
The federal government also assured the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in writing. The increase will be implemented from January 2027.
As many as 2,00,000 more eligible families will be included in the Benazir Income Support Programme.
Earlier, the federal government had proposed a 20 percent increase in funding for the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) to Rs 716 billion in the upcoming Budget Fiscal Year 2025-26.
