Reiterating that terrorists were infiltrating into the country from across the border in Afghanistan, Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi has categorically said that locals were not involved in incidents of terrorism, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Addressing tribal elders during his visit to Wana on Saturday, Mohsin Naqvi said these were Afghans who had carried out the attack on Judicial Complex in Islamabad.
The interior minister made it clear that nobody would be allowed to destabilize the country. “No one will be allowed to sabotage the peace of the country,” the minister added.
This was a clear message, he further said, from Field Marshal Asim Munir that there would be no compromise on national security. “If you are not pleased with the government, it does not mean that you pick up arms against the state.”
Speaking on the occasion, tribal elders said they were against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
They said they did not support the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
They further said they were thankful to the government for initiating development projects in their area besides providing education to their children.
Paying tributes to the Pakistan Army, they said that the Force was giving sacrifices on a daily basis only for the sake of tribesmen. They went on to say that terrorism had no place in Islam.
Earlier, Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi visited the Cadet College Wana. IG Frontier Corps Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) South Major General Mehr Umar Khan welcomed the minister on arrival.
Naqvi, on the occasion, met with the Pakistan Army officers and personnel who foiled a terror attack on the college and thus saved the lives of students and their teachers. He also met with the cadets and their teachers.
The minister prayed glowing tributes to the Pakistan Army for its professionalism.
He also praised the high morale of teachers as well as students.
On the occasion, he was briefed about the operation carried out to flush the militants out of the institution.
Speaking on the occasion, Naqvi said that the militants, who had carried out an attack on the college were not human beings, but beasts who had nothing to do with humanity. “No religion in the world condones the killings of children,” he said, and added, “Calling these people human beings is an affront to humanity.”
He went on to say that the militants wanted to repeat the Army Public School Peshawar like attack. “But the army and Frontier Corps torpedoed their plans.”
The minister announced that the college would be renovated in best possible manner.
