Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) veteran politician and former Member of the National Assembly (MNA), Roshan Din Junejo, passed away, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
President Asif Ali Zardari, currently on an official visit to China, expressed deep sorrow over the loss and extended heartfelt condolences to Junejo’s family.
In his message, President Zardari praised the late leader’s commitment to public service and lauded his role in strengthening the PPP and serving his constituents in Sanghar.
“Roshan Din Junejo will always be remembered for his dedication and tireless efforts for the people of his constituency,” President Zardari said.
Born on January 1, 1951, Roshan Din Junejo was a seasoned political figure from Sindh who served multiple terms in the National Assembly.
He was first elected as a PPP candidate from NA-236 (Sanghar-II) in the 2008 general elections, securing 90,311 votes and defeating Jam Mashooq Ali of the Pakistan Muslim League-Functional group (PML-F).
In the 2013 elections, he was re-elected from the same constituency, this time with 100,906 votes, overcoming Imamuddin Shouqeen of the PML-F.
Junejo continued his political journey with another victory in the 2018 general elections, representing NA-217 (Sanghar-III) as a PPP candidate.
His parliamentary tenure spanned from 2008 to 2023, during which he remained an active voice for the people of Sindh and a steadfast member of the PPP.
