Indian singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh has opened up about his decision to perform the iconic ‘Sanson Ki Mala’, originally performed by legendary Pakistani qawwali maestro Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.

During a recent Instagram Live, Diljit explained that he performed the song at his Wembley concert purely out of his love and admiration for Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and his music.

Speaking about the performance, Diljit humbly said that he does not consider himself a big enough singer to truly justify NFAK’s music. “I am not a big enough singer to justify Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s music. I am a limited artist,” he said.

Diljit also apologized for any mistakes he may have made while performing the legendary singer’s melody, admitting that singing Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s compositions is extremely difficult.

His remarks came as he explained the thought behind his Wembley performance of ‘Sanson Ki Mala’, once again expressing his deep respect for the late Pakistani legend and his timeless musical legacy.

Diljit’s humble remarks have once again highlighted his admiration for Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, whose music continues to resonate with audiences across borders.
