An unidentified 40-year-old man died after being struck by a train near Pul Shadi Lal Chowk in Multan, Rescue 1122 said.
According to eyewitnesses, the man had been sitting near the railway tracks before suddenly moving in front of an approaching train.
Rescue officials said he sustained a severe head injury and died at the scene.
Police completed the necessary legal formalities before shifting the body to Nishtar Hospital for further proceedings.
Police had not established the deceased's identity immediately.
