The United States has declined to comment on the Saudi foreign minister’s ongoing visit to Pakistan amid rising tensions in the Middle East following Iran’s unprecedented drone and missile attack on Israel, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

When asked during his daily news briefing in Washington on Monday about the Saudi foreign minister’s visit to Pakistan, State Department spokesman Matthew Miller refrained from making any comment on Saudi foreign minister’s visit to Islamabad but said US Secretary of State Blinken spoke with Saudi FM last week to discuss de-escalation in the Middle East.

“We have continued to work with Saudi Arabia not just to de-escalate tensions in the immediate term, but to work for long-term and ultimately normalisation between Saudi Arabia and Israel that would provide regional peace and security for years to come,” he said.
Responding to a question, Miller said the United States wants to see rule of law in Pakistan. He said the US will continue to work for freedom of expression in Pakistan and “we also continue to support the rule of law in Pakistan”.
