Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif participated in the first passing out parade of the Environment Protection Force.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif also launched the Environmental Approval Management System.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif also launched the Emission Testing System for vehicles.
After checking under the Emission Test System, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif affixed the first ETS sticker to the vehicle.
Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif hoisted the flag of the Environment Protection Authority.
Speaking the occasion, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said that government is making the Punjab a role model for other provinces.
We are trying our best to make environment of the country pollution free and for the purpose were taking measures at all levels. No previous governments took initiatives in this regards, Maryam Nawaz said.
She said that for controlling crime, government established Crime Control Department (CCD) which will deal in heinous crime including serious crimes of rapes and sodomy.
Maryam Nawaz said that government allocated Rs100 billion for the provision of free medicines to the citizens in government hospital and there is zero tolerance if the patients were not being provided free medicines.
The Chief Minister said that government also focusing the education sector and the brilliant students will be given scholarships and laptops as well.
She said we provided environment friendly green line e-buses buses in the Lahore initially and the people will see soon these buses plying on the roads across the province.
Punjab government is will soon import more than 1500 e-buses for the big cities of the province.
Earlier, Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb shed detailed light on the steps taken by the Environment Protection Force and informed about the EMS system.
She said the E-bike Squad of the Environment Protection Force will work as an eco-friendly unit.
Green Squad will work for anti-plastic campaign, dust and dengue control in urban areas, she added.
Blue Squad of the Environment Protection Force will make efforts for protect water bodies.
The Black Squad will work against vehicle fuel testing and toxic fumes.
The Red Squad of the Environment Protection Force will work to prevent harmful substances in industrial areas and hospitals.
The Hawk Eye Squad will conduct environmental monitoring with 360-degree live camera-carrying vehicles and 11 thermal drones that can see in the dark.
A special Urban Patrolling and Vigilance Squad will work to prevent environmental hazards.
The Brick Clean Squad of the Environment Protection Force will monitor kilns on 8 special double cabin vehicles.
The Anti-Plastic and Fugitive Dust Squad will work to eliminate plastic and dust pollution
The Point Source Pollution Monitoring Squad will monitor environmental pollutants.
A check will be kept on air quality in the relevant areas through mobile air quality monitoring stations.
