Fire erupted in an engine of Rehman Baba Express, heading from Karachi to Peshawar, somewhere between Gadar and Dhabeji Station on Thursday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
However, taking timely action, Pakistan Railways (PR) officials separated the engine from bogies, thus preventing the loss of lives.
Later, the blaze was extinguished with the help of locals.
On the other hand, an inquiry was launched to ascertain the reasons for the fire.
Pakistan Railways officials said that they attached top priority to the protection of lives of their passengers.
