The caretaker government has announced a hike in the prices of petrol and High-Speed Diesel (HSD) for the next 15 days, 24News HD TV Channel reported on Tuesday.
The new rates of petrol and high-speed diesel are Rs290.45 per litre and Rs293.40 per litre respectively, which is an increase of Rs17.50 and Rs20 per litre from the previous prices.
The decision was taken after consultation with the Finance Secretary and the caretaker Prime Minister, who approved a summary forwarded by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).
The sources said the price hike was due to the rising cost of refineries and imports.
