Acknowledging the services of Muhammad Hilal and Asmat Ali, two volunteers, who saved the lives of several people during floods in Swat, Federal Minister Engineer Amir Muqam, on the instructions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, on Saturday handed them cheques of Rs1 million each, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Speaking at the cheque-handing ceremony, Muqam said that the timely action taken by these two youths was a manifestation of their patriotism. “Both of them saved the lives of people by putting their own lives at risk,” he said, adding, “Their bravery is a ray of hope and is a reminder that our national strength lies in unity.”
“The government will continue to support such people, who play the role of a man of crisis,” the minister added.
Both the volunteers, on the occasion, thanked the prime minister as well as the minister and renewed their pledge to keep serving the nation in the future as well.
