At least three people were injured in three landmine blasts in Parachinar on Sunday, according to police and hospital sources.
Police sources said two landmine explosions occurred in the suburban area of Dunder Sahra during the evening, injuring two passersby.
The injured were identified as Sajjad Hussain and Yasir Hussain. They were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital for medical treatment, police said.
Earlier in the day, a landmine blast in the same area left a labourer, Hamid Hussain, severely injured. According to police sources, both of his legs had to be amputated following the morning explosion.
Hospital sources confirmed that the two evening explosions were the third landmine incident reported in the Dunder Sahra area on Sunday.
The latest incidents have raised concerns over the presence of landmines in the area, where several landmine explosions and mortar shell incidents have reportedly occurred during the past week.
According to local sources, at least nine people have been injured in landmine and mortar shell-related incidents in Kurram district over the past three days. Authorities are investigating the incidents and assessing the security situation in the affected area.
