Islamabad National Accountability Bureau has arrested former federal minister Fawad Chaudhary from Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
The NAB chairman had issued the arrest warrant for former federal minister Fawad Chaudhary under Section 24-A.
According to the text of the warrant, Fawad Chaudhry was arrested in a corruption case and would now be produced in court.
Earlier, NAB took permission from the District and Sessions Courts Islamabad to execute the warrant and conduct a comprehensive investigation against the former minister Fawad Chaudhry in the corruption case.
The court of Judicial Magistrate Yasir Mahmood heard the case.
NAB officials and investigation officers appeared in the court.
The NAB officials informed the court that Fawad was in custody under judicial remand.
The court allowed the NAB to execute the orders and also directed the Adiala Jail superintendent to cooperate in this regard.
It should be noted that an inquiry was ongoing against Fawad Chaudhary for allegedly committing corruption in the Jhelum to Pind Dad Khan Dual Carriageway Project.
Fawad is accused of using political influence and buying land in the project. NAB Rawalpindi summoned him in the case on November 13.
