Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif on Monday declared the dialogue process with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) a “joke”.
Speaking to the media, Asif said he asked the ministers involved in the process about talks with the PTI just a short while ago and they said nobody contacted them. He said the PTI should tell the government that they want talks with the government and talks should be initiated through the National Assembly speaker.
He said the government would only be able to respond after the PTI contacts them for talks. He said the PTI agreed for talks after the situation changed, but there is a need to see how they were behaving before the November 26 protest. He said that still there is no change in PTI’s attitude. If you want to initiate dialogue, he said, you must talk politely or keep silent. He said that PTI founder Imran Khan should initial dialogue with the government. He said that only Imran Khan matters in the part and nobody else does.
