Karachi police chief Javed Alam Odho on Monday suspended nine policemen including two women for making TikToks while wearing uniform, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The police chief also directed to hold annual increments and bonus on these employees.
The policeman who were suspended include Constable Majid Ali, Nauman Khan, Nauman Sajjad, Sepoy Ahmad Ali, Huzafa, Qasim and Zeeshan. The women employees were Sonya and Meenema.
These cops posted their videos on social media while dancing. The police chief already strictly directed all policeman to avoid making unnecessary videos to avoid stern action.
Karachi police forms social media force
A newly constituted social media force of Karachi police enhanced monitoring of all posts being shared on all platforms of social media.
According to details, Karachi police social media force will take stern action against those persons found involved in posting unverified or fake news.
In-charge of social media team Amjad Hussain said that immediate action will be taken on authentic or credible information otherwise action will be taken against persons posting fake material under cyber-crime laws.
He further said that verification process of all posts currently underway while strict action will be taking against persons.
They appealed the general public to avoid posting fake or unverified material on social media.
