The Federal Constitutional Court Tuesday heard a petition challenging the exemption from the BEd qualification requirement for headmasters of schools in Balochistan, reported24NewsHD TV channel.
The petition, filed by Advocate Amanullah Kanrani on behalf of Fahim Khan, was heard by a three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Aminuddin Khan. Advocate Kanrani told the court that the Public Service Commission had withdrawn the BEd requirement in the second advertisement for vacant headmaster posts, a move he argued was against law and established rules.
The court accepted the petition for initial hearing and issued notices to the Balochistan government and the Public Service Commission.
Meanwhile, it restrained the government from making appointments to the posts in question until further orders.
Advocate Kanrani informed the media that the date for the next hearing of the petition will be fixed later.
