Gas cylinder explosion in Larkana leaves two dead, 15 wounded

At least two people, a woman and a child, were killed and 15 others were injured when a powerful gas cylinder explosion ripped through Lehr Colony in Larkana, blowing off the roofs of five houses on Tuesday.

According to rescue officials, the explosion caused widespread destruction, trapping several residents under the rubble.

A rescue operation was launched to pull out a child, identified as Ghulam Mustafa Mugheri, who was buried beneath debris.

He was shifted to a trauma centre in critical condition but later he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

The woman who lost her life in the incident was identified as Yasmin. Authorities confirmed that the death toll rose to two after the child’s demise.

Rescue teams provided immediate medical assistance to the injured, with four critically wounded individuals shifted from Larkana to Karachi for advanced treatment. The remaining injured are being treated at local hospitals.

According to initial information, the explosion was caused by a gas cylinder. Police have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause and circumstances of the incident.
