Four drug suppliers were sentenced in separate narcotics cases by courts in Rawalpindi on Monday.
The sentences were pronounced by Additional Sessions Judge Nadia Ikram Malik, Additional Sessions Judge Farhat Jabeen Rana and Additional Sessions Judge Chaudhry Majid Hussain Gadi. The convicts were collectively handed down a total of 42 years in prison along with fines amounting to Rs725,000.
Suleman Fayyaz was sentenced to 14 years in prison and fined Rs400,000. He had been arrested by Race Course Police in November 2024 after 5 kilogrammes and 200 grammes of hashish were recovered from his possession.
Raheel Ahmed received a 10-year prison sentence along with a fine of Rs125,000. He was arrested by Civil Lines Police in April 2025 after 2 kilogrammes and 200 grammes of hashish were recovered from him.
Tayyab Hussain was sentenced to nine years in prison and fined Rs100,000. Saddar Baruni Police had arrested him in May 2025 after recovering 2 kilogrammes and 500 grammes of hashish from his possession.
Hassan Ali was also sentenced to nine years in prison along with a fine of Rs100,000. He was arrested by City Police in April 2025 after 1 kilogramme and 420 grammes of hashish were recovered from him.
