The federal government has increased the price of kerosene oil by Rs4.73 per litre, extending the latest round of fuel price adjustments that earlier saw hikes in petrol and high-speed diesel.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel report on Monday, the new kerosene price has been fixed at Rs180.53 per litre, up from the previous rate of Rs175.80.

A formal notification has also been issued announcing the revised price, which took effect immediately. Officials confirmed that the increase is part of the government’s routine review of petroleum product prices.

The move follows a late-night announcement by the Petroleum Division raising the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel for the upcoming fortnight.

According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Energy, petrol has been increased by Rs5 per litre, bringing the new price to Rs258.17 per litre.

High-speed diesel has seen a sharper increase of Rs7.32 per litre, pushing its new rate to Rs275.70 per litre. The revised petrol and diesel prices will remain in effect for the next 13 days under the government’s regular fortnightly pricing mechanism.

The latest adjustments are expected to have a ripple effect on transportation costs and essential commodities, as fuel prices directly influence inflationary trends across the country.
