♦ In his messages on Twitter, PPP Chairman and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari thanked the people of Karachi and Hyderabad division. He wrote: “According to feedback from our polling agents, single largest party in Karachi will be PPP IA. Overwhelmed by the support of my city, my birthplace, for choosing PPP for the first time. Together we will build the Karachi we deserve.”
♦ According to unofficial results of Hyderabad, the PTI grabbed 23 seats, PPP bagged 22 and the JI won only one seat. However, the PPP candidates have already been elected unopposed on 31 seats enabling the party to grab 53 seats in total. So far, 156 general members of the PPP have also been elected unopposed.
♦ The PPP clinched victory in the second phase of the local bodies’ elections in most of the cities in interior Sindh including Dadu and Thattha. According to the unofficial results, the PPP won 12 out of 14 seats of Badin Municipal Committee. The PPP also gained success in all eight wards of Bhan Saeedabad Town Committee of Sehwan.

♦ Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer Hafiz Naeem Ur Rehman claimed victory on 100 seats in Sindh local body election. He said the people of Karachi supported Jamaat-e-Islami, alleging that conspiracies are being hatched to eliminate the majority. ROs (Returning Officers) are not announcing the results, adding that that attempts were being made to “manipulate” them.
♦ Sindh Election Commissioner Ejaz Anwar Chauhan said that the Election Commission fulfilled its constitutional responsibility in a good manner in second phase of local government elections. He added that polling continued from 6 to 7 pm at many polling stations. There were 1,230 local government constituencies in Karachi, whereas 4,999 polling stations were set up
