The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Home and Tribal Affairs Department has imposed a strict partial ban on the movement of civilians and private vehicles on Miranshah Road in Bannu district on Saturday, January 17, under Section 144, citing concerns for public safety and law and order.
According to an official notification issued through the Deputy Commissioner Bannu, the ban will remain in force from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. The restrictions apply to Route No. 1, the main Bannu–Miranshah–Ghulam Khan Road from Siddigi to the RPO Office/ML Gate, and Route No. 2, covering Bakakhel Mandi including Bazaar, Azad Mandi, Shaheen Chowk to Tapi Qala Chowk, as well as the Bannu–Miranshah–Ghulam Khan Road from the RPO Office to Siddigi Check Post. The ban extends to both sides of the road up to one kilometre.
The order has been enforced in view of the safety of life and property of the public and to maintain public order. Compliance with the restrictions has been made mandatory for all concerned institutions and the general public.
Authorities have urged citizens to strictly adhere to the order and cooperate fully with law enforcement agencies to avoid any untoward incident, emphasizing the importance of responsible civic behaviour.
The notification warned that strict legal action will be taken against violators under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code. The announcement has been made for public awareness through the office of the Deputy Commissioner Bannu.
