Quoting the former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan, his sister Aleema Khan said on Wednesday that he had said he was ready to talk for the resolution of the issues confronting the masses, but would not strike a deal for his own self, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Speaking to reporters outside an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Rawalpindi, she said that right now, the PTI’s focus was on the release of innocent party workers.

She further said what the PTI founder could do to rid the nation of inflation. “He is himself in jail.”

Pakistanis, she added, were hardworking people, but the country was not getting richer. “If people are being mistreated, they should stand up for their rights.”

Aleema went on to say that the former prime minister was being mentally tortured in jail. “His wife, Bushra Bibi, has been kept in jail only to dent her husband’s resolve,” she said, adding, “Imran’s life is in danger. The new jail superintendent has been especially appointed to torture my brother.”

“The superintendent is a liar. Adiala Jail is under the control of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.”

She announced that she would approach the Supreme Court for the release of her brother. “The entire world knows that Imran does not lie,” Aleema said.

Court orders provision of details of cases lodged against Aleema

Earlier, the anti-terrorism court (ATC) ordered the RPO Rawalpindi to provide details of the cases registered against Aleema to her lawyer.

Judge Amjad Ali Shah heard the bail petition filed by Imran’s sister.

Later, the court adjourned the case’s hearing until July 30.
