The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday suspended the Justice of Peace order for the registration of a case against Suleman Shehbaz, the son of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in a bounce cheque case until further orders, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
Issuing notices to the parties, the LHC sought replies from them on July 31.
LHC Chief Justice (CJ) Aalia Neelum heard the petition filed by Suleman.
Assistant Advocate General Waqas Umar appeared in the court on behalf of the Punjab government.
Counsel for the petitioner, on the occasion, said that no address had been given on the petition, seeking registration of a case against his client, and that Syed Qateel Anwarul Hassan had filed the petition with a mala fide intent. “Therefore, it is prayed to the court to declare the order for the registration of a case against Suleman null and void.”
